The Fifty 50 Club has commissioned a fully furnished pediatric and maternal care centre for the Kyekyewere-Dadwen Community Health Centre, as part of activities marking its sixth anniversary. At the same event, the Club awarded a full scholarship to Abigail Botaah to study BSc Mining Engineering at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa.
Together, the two initiatives cost GHS 214,930, the Club’s highest spending on a single event since it was founded in July 2020.
Our flagship project: GHS 205,930
The Club invested GHS 205,930 in building and furnishing the new centre. It follows an earlier donation of medical equipment worth GHS 35,000 to the same health centre in December 2024. When the facility asked for more, the Club kept listening: ground was broken in September 2025, and in June 2026 members handed over a building where mothers and babies of Kyekyewere-Dadwen and nearby communities are now seen.
Every cedi came from the monthly contributions of the Club’s 274 members, working people who give from their own pay.
A mining engineering scholarship at UMaT
The Club provided GHS 9,000 to cover Abigail Botaah’s first-year tuition, accommodation and related costs, and committed to support the remaining three years of her studies, subject to satisfactory academic performance. She is the Club’s third full university scholar.

Club President Jacob Edmund-Acquah thanked members for their unwavering commitment and financial support towards the flagship project. He said the centre aligns with the Club’s mission of supporting local healthcare institutions to provide quality medical services, and called on individuals and corporate organisations to partner with the Club.
The Acting Director of Health Services for the Adansi North District, Franklin Ampofo, commended the Club for its strategic investment in healthcare, saying the facility would provide a conducive environment for mothers and children and contribute to improved health outcomes in the district.
The District Chief Executive for Adansi North, Charles Ogbeh, described the project as a testament to the critical role of private participation in healthcare delivery, noting that such interventions complement government efforts and allow public resources to be redirected to other priorities.
